Craigtoun Country Park

Craigtoun is a 47 acre, well-maintained public park located within the Cameron area and just 2 miles from the historic town of St Andrews.

With free entry, free parking and on-site café, it really is the ideal place for a great-value family day out. The park itself is open 24/7 and it’s a great day out for the whole family. During the season try the Rio Grande Railway, Crazy Golf, Putting and Puffin’ Billy – the road train that takes you round the whole park.

The Friends of Craigtoun was formed in 2012 with the aim of securing the future of Craigtoun Country Park. Following lengthy discussions with Fife Council it was agreed that the Friends should take over the running of all facilities in the park and, in a partnership arrangement the Council, would maintain the grounds and assist with grants/investment. With the help of council grants and external grants/donations, further investment has been made in the park including the complete re-furbishment of the Rio Grande Miniature Railway and the installation of a free to use trim trail with zip wires and all inclusive play equipment. The pathway leading from the car park to the Cafe and Ticket Office has also been tarmacked, making the park more accessible for wheelchair users.

The Friends are always happy to accept volunteers in either a physical role – gardening, painting etc, or a more sedentary role. If this would interest you please contact them directly.

They are also looking for old pictures of Craigtoun to compile a history of the park, and to help to identify all the trees and plants in the park.
