The Duke's lies on the grounds of the Mount Melville Estate which was originally owned by the Younger family - the famous brewers. The Younger family played golf regularly and Dr James Younger was a Captain of the Royal and Ancient Golf Society. The Duke's is pleased to maintain the Younger's legacy.

The Duke's was opened in July 1995 by HRH The Duke of York, Prince Andrew, who played an inaugural round with British Lions and Scottish Rugby Captain Gavin Hastings OBE. Originally designed by five-time Open champion Peter Thomson, The Duke's is a championship golf course that now features on many golfers "must-play" list.

Renovated in June 2006 by Tim Liddy, a protégé of distinguished course designer Pete Dye, The Duke's has been transformed into a majestic heathland course reminiscent of the true heathland courses of the 1950s. With five different tees on each hole, the Par 71, 7512 yard-course provides a challenge for players of every level and offers spectacular views over the Auld Grey Toon of St Andrews.

The Duke's was recently honoured with the accolade of Best Golf Club in the UK at the inaugural "Golf Club of the Year Awards 2010" so you will be assured of a warm welcome by the clubhouse team that prides itself in its friendliness and high levels
of service, whether you're coming off the golf course or just stopping by for a bite
to eat.
